Sassari, 4 October 2023 – Inaugurated this morning at the Porte di Sassari Shopping Center “Un Mare D'Aria”, the Inflatable Art exhibition that is “consciously” animating the summer of Gallerie Sardegna, the sign that identifies the centers commercial managed by the international real estate solutions company on Nhood on the island (Olbia Mare - Olbia, I Fenicotteri – Santa Gilla/Cagliari, Porte di Sassari – Sassari).

After having fascinated the visitors and tourists of the Olbia Mare and Flamingo Center, from today until October 29th, the artistic forms of fascinating marine creatures, such as fish, octopuses, jellyfish and starfish, will soar lightly in flight thanks to the 'Inflatable Art, or Inflatable Art, an artistic movement born in the 1900s with which artists create infinite forms, modeling the air. In this summer of 2023, walking in the "Sardinia Galleries" will be like exploring the riches of underwater life from the perspective of the seabed: a unique experience that gives the sensation of virtually "swimming" in the sea of air around you.

The exhibition, which enjoys the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the patronage of the Municipality of Olbia, the Municipality of Cagliari and the Municipality of Sassari, and has the collaboration of Legambiente and numerous territorial associations, has the objective of raising public awareness of all ages on the importance of protecting the ecosystem and the Sardinian seas, of promoting and spreading the culture of sustainability and the protection of our most important heritage: the Planet.

Present at the ribbon cutting were: Antonio Piu, Regional Councilor of Green Europe, Nanni Campus, Mayor of the Municipality of Sassari, Maurilio Murru, President of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Sassari, Antonello Sassu, Councilor for the Environment and Public Greenery of the Municipality of Sassari, Rosanna Arru, Councilor for Public Works, Heritage Management and Sports Facilities of the Municipality of Sassari, Michele Meloni, Head of Legambiente Sardinia, Fabrizio Piras, Conad entrepreneur, Nadia Mombelli, Shopping Center Manager and representatives of numerous local associations.

This initiative has all my support because it effectively contributes to growing the culture of respect for the environment and the protection of our precious territory and our sea. The combination of art and ecology brings together values that in our society are the salt for a more sustainable present and future. The contents that art is able to convey represent an asset to be promoted to nourish the lives of citizens of profound beauty and ecology is, today more than ever and increasingly urgent, the paradigm of social and environmental sustainability which is concretely reflected in the lives of every citizenstates Antonio Piu, regional councilor of Green Europe .

Let's imagine for a moment the Earth without the sea. It would be one of the millions of planets traveling undisturbed in the immensity of the universe. They all have one feature: there is no life on their surface. The Earth is special, special for the oceans that cover 70% of its surface. This special uniqueness is life for us human beings, life for all living beings, for all the thousands of animal species that populate the planet together with us. Respect for the sea is first and foremost respect for life. Our history has always been the history of the sea. It is the story of navigators, of immigrations, of invasions, of wars. But it is also a source of artistic inspiration, painting and literature have always found inspiration in the sea. The sea was our past. Its protection is our future " states Antonello Sassu, Councilor for the Environment and Public Greens of the Municipality of Sassari .

“We are convinced that art is a very powerful vehicle for conveying a message of sustainability, even more so when it comes to marine ecosystems, increasingly threatened by an irresponsible approach, and "Un Mare d'Aria" is an excellent transmission vehicle through the works on display to better understand and protect our splendid marine heritage, an inestimable wealth that is protected so that everyone can enjoy it in a responsible waystates Michele Meloni, Head of Legambiente Sardinia .

"Our mission is to be citizens of the world, committing skills and good practices to safeguard nature and the ecosystem, thanks to working in synergy with local institutions and associations" says Nadia Mombelli, Shopping Center Manager of the Nhood shopping centers in Sardinia .
