Identity as mutual recognition of distinct and specific realities. Those realities told by cinema with long or short films, documentaries, narrative and artistic experiments. In the original language and with subtitles.
The fifth edition of " Visioni parallele ", an exhibition organized by the Meridiano Zero cultural association in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari, starts on Wednesday 27 September at the Bunker space in Sassari (6pm).
For two months, until November 22nd, the works chosen by Anna de Manincor, director and founder of the Bolognese multidisciplinary artistic collective ZimmerFrei, will be offered, supported by teachers of cinema, anthropology and contemporary aesthetics from the "Mario Sironi" Academy of Sassari.
On Wednesday, the video trilogy “Lumi” by the ZimmerFrei collective will be shown (produced by the ON association thanks to the MiC Italian Council award) - also available for viewing on 28 and 29 September - which is made up of three conversations between very young people of different backgrounds around the mutual blindness and the recognition of oneself in the gaze of the other.
From 11 October Visioni Parallele moves to the Cinema Cityplex Moderno with “As bestas” by Madrid director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, presented at Cannes in 2022 and winner of nine Goya awards. “Rispet” by Trentino filmmaker Cecilia Bozza Wolf (18 October), shot in Val di Cembra with non-professional actors, also has a rural setting.
The Dutch artist and filmmaker Renzo Martens presents two documentaries shot twelve years apart in Congo: “Enjoy Poverty” and “White Cube” (25 October), and also holds a masterclass in the “Sironi” Academy (26 October).
