The data on arrivals in Sardinia in July confirm the positive trend recorded in the previous month. Over 1.3 million passengers disembarked in ports and airports, an increase compared to 2021 and also an increase compared to 2019, with a figure higher by 6.5% compared to the pre-pandemic period.

"These numbers confirm the strong attractiveness of our region and the dynamism of the tourism sector which remains competitive despite the uncertainties on the international scene", comments the president of the Region, Christian Solinas, who expresses satisfaction with the general trend of the tourist season.

In July the ports , according to data provided by the Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea, recorded a total of over 607 thousand arrivals with an increase of 14% compared to 2021 and 6.92% compared to 2019, a figure that is certifies overall as the best of the season. Among the most significant numbers we find that recorded by the port of Olbia and Porto Torres , respectively with over 370 thousand and 143 thousand passengers disembarked.

Arrivals at airports are also good: 763 thousand landings in total at the three airports on the island.

Cagliari-Elmas with over 302 thousand passengers returns to the levels recorded in July 2019 . Alghero , with over 113,343 passengers disembarked in the month that has just ended, marks a net increase compared to 2021 (+ 32%) and a growth also compared to 2019 (+7.36). The same for Olbia , with 347,351 arrivals in July (+ 26.3% compared to 2021 and +12.24 on 2019). Olbia with 665 thousand passengers, in the month of July, overall between arrivals and departures marks its historical record .

"The international situation, marked by air traffic strikes in recent weeks and by increases - says Solinas - has not discouraged tourists, who continue to choose Sardinia as their holiday destination. We will continue to promote our island everywhere, investing in its naturalistic beauties, its excellences and its culture, which constitute something unique and a value capable of attracting and being a driving force for the economy of the whole region ".
