In the first round of the Coppa Italia, Spezia's 4-1 defeat of Torres was the most glaring result. It was an expected defeat, though not a colossal one, given the team's weaknesses in defense and on the flanks, exacerbated by injuries and ailments. Suffice it to say that there were only three full-backs, and only Berto played in the final 15 minutes after Zanandrea and Nunziatini left the pitch.

The defeat is easily absorbed by the team, but it sounds like an invitation to the club to speed up the transfer market, because even if Antonelli could return very quickly, Scaringi will need at least another three weeks and in any case, they need another defender in a numerically reduced department.
