Two years later, Torres and Atalanta Under-23 crossed paths again. In the 2025 playoffs at the "Vanni Sanna" stadium, the Sassari-based team won 2-1, a meaningless victory after the humiliating 7-1 defeat in the first leg. Sunday's match at 12:30 PM, however, isn't seen as a rematch. Coach Alfonso Greco is clear: "That was a bad night, an episode that doesn't affect our third-place finish in the league. On Sunday, we're only focusing on this season: a win could help us make a significant leap in the standings."

The Rossoblù are coming off three consecutive draws, which have kept them in the playoff zone, between seventh and ninth place, but within reach of their pursuers. Atlanta is one of them: nine points, three fewer than Torres but with two games in hand.

Coach Greco knows what to expect: "When you face teams like this, you know they have talent and structure, so we'll have to improve our possession game to prevent them from expressing themselves at their best in transition."

The Sassari team will be without Sorrentino, Nunziatini and Pennington, but the three defenders Kebbeh, Scaringi and Zanandrea have been working all week.
