“ About Bach ”, on music by JS Bach, is the fifth event on the program of the 2024 edition of the musical festival “ Il Filo Rosso ”, organized by the Polifonica Santa Cecilia Onlus of the president Denise Gueye . Saturday at 8.15 pm in the church of San Pietro in Silki in Sassari : the vocal group “ Laeti Cantores ” from Cagliari directed by Mario Fulgoni will perform. Free admission.

In active activity since August 2000, the vocal group “Laeti Cantores” boasts a repertoire that ranges from sacred and profane polyphony of the 16th century to contemporary music. Thanks to the stable collaboration with maestro Mario Fulgoni who has been carrying out training and direction activities in the group for several years, it has undertaken the study of works by musicians such as Bach, Buxtehude, Monteverdi, Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, Telemann and the study of popular singing, deepening the aspects of vocality, interpretation and performance practice.

The concert - with maestro Francesco Bianco at the organ - includes the performance of the monumental motet “ Jesu, meine Freude ”, the only one for 5 voices, divided into eleven movements. Followed by the motet “ Lobet den Herrn alle Heiden ”.
