The judges of the first section of the Sardinian TAR rejected the precautionary petition presented by Ita against the Region against the assignment of non-stop flights to Volotea.

The airline had asked for the suspension and then the cancellation of the tender, a request rejected by the college chaired by Dante D'Alessio, alongside Raffaello Scarpato and Tito Aru.

Ita asked to suspend the decision of 13 October last with which the emergency negotiation procedure was completed for the assignment of the routes in territorial continuity to the low cost company.

The TAR clarifies that some aspects will be addressed on the merits in the hearing scheduled for February 2: "The request for a precautionary suspension measure requested by Ita - reads the ordinance - arises, in the comparison of the interests involved, in terms without 'other recessive than the pre-eminent public interest of not incurring interruptions in the regular performance of the air transport service between the island and the continent that Volotea has already started ".

Pending the decision on the merits, in a nutshell, the most important thing is to preserve the continuity service which, if suspended, could cause enormous inconvenience to citizens.
