The world of rock music mourns one of its sacred monsters. This is David Crosby, who died in the US at the age of 81.

He was the founder of two of the biggest bands of the 1960s - The Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash - and in his career he was twice inducted into the "mythical" Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

His wife, Jan Dance, gave the sad news of his death, explaining to the Variety website that the musician died "while he was surrounded by family".

“His legacy – he added – will live on through his legendary music”.
