The Regional Council has received initial approval for the approximately €11 billion budget bill. The Budget Committee has approved the text, which will be debated in Parliament next Tuesday. Questions remain about its swift approval, given that there is still friction within the majority, with groups arguing for the need to immediately include the new resources from the revenue dispute, even if this would require a longer period of time and a second month of provisional budgeting.

The key to overcoming the lack of maneuverable funds appears to be the "sacrifice" of the Regional Council, through the renunciation of some spending commitments in individual departments: "We're discussing it, but it wouldn't be a sacrifice," said Giuseppe Meloni, Councilor for the Budget and Vice President of the Region.

The member of the Executive Board then explained: "In reality, it would be a sort of round-trip transaction with the programming of resources that are not frozen in this way but are spent at the right time."
