A hybrid performance between theatre and electronic music concert, poetic act, ritualistic form and audio-visual outcome. Sunday at 7 pm the Teatro Civico di Sassari hosts “Il pubblico bene” by and with Simone Azzu and Martino Corrias.

Produced by Meridiano Zero, the show focuses on Sardinia : a territory perceived as exotic, it manifests itself as a paradigm of exploitation of the soil, resources and population, in a precise disconnect between the needs of the inhabitants and those of capitalism.

What is the Public Good, the character asks? He continually urges us to defend the Public Good. But what is public, exactly, whose is it and by whom can it be used? Does the citizen have a right to speak and express himself, or can he only enjoy it in a hit-and-run way and then return to his spaces, to the residential suburbs, to the urban dormitories?

Direction, dramaturgy, poetic texts and implementation Simone Azzu. Music Martino Corrias. Video project Claudia Virdis. The video material is taken from Sardegna Digital Library – concession: Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and from the Fiorenzo Serra Archive.
