With the increase in the price of steel, the cost of building the new Cagliari Calcio stadium rises to approximately 180 million euros.

The topic came out this morning during the Public Works Commission of the Municipality, which had on the agenda the updating of the administrative procedure with a hearing of the mayor Paolo Truzzu and the manager of the Strategic Works, Mobility, Infrastructures service, Daniele Olla.

"In the last year - explains Umberto Ticca, chairman of the commission - the prices of materials such as steel and concrete are a general problem. The figure of 183 million is not definitive, however, there are some technical issues to see. The increase, considering this general situation, does not surprise me that much. It emerged during the commission that, if the stadium were a public work, it would not cost much less. , it would be borne by the Municipality. And yet it is not: the stadium will then be returned to the public with all the maintenance. The Municipality is doing its utmost. We also have the ten million scheduled. And they are ready ".

The project - which therefore will not stop - concerns an area of 100 thousand square meters between the structure and "adjacencies". 25 thousand spectators the capacity, but with the possibility of increasing to 30 thousand seats to fall within the parameters of international competitions. 5 thousand stalls are expected, including 4,880 spaces for cars, 90 for buses, 1,300 for cycles and motorcycles, 900 for bicycles. 34 private spaces for hospitality and a hotel with 122 rooms. Two thousand square meters will be reserved for conventions and company meetings with a thousand-seat exhibition center, a 120 auditorium and 26 sky boxes.

And, again, a wellness center of about 4 thousand square meters, the largest in Sardinia, can be read in the presentation slides. Finally, there is the possibility of concerts with a capacity of up to 18 thousand seats. There will be the museum and a sports bar.
