His compositions are performed by the most prestigious symphony orchestras on four continents : from St. Petersburg to Vancouver, from the brass of the Chicago Symphony to Tokyo, from the King's Singers to the Sofia Soloists. The Belgian Jan Van der Roost will lead the Wind Orchestra of the Conservatory of Sassari in the concert "The Colors of Joy". The appointment is for Friday at the Teatro Comunale of Sassari at 8:30 pm. Admission is free .
Over 70 members, almost all students of the "Canepa", will perform music by Van der Roost himself, author of over 350 compositions performed and many others.
The concert program includes the performance of Takayama Impressions , Namase Rhapsody , I colori della gioia , Medelpadia , Ponte Romano , Adagio for Winds , As the curtain closes , I shall love but thee , Stepstones . The Conservatory Wind Orchestra will be composed of 10 flutes/piccolo, 3 oboes/English horn, 14 clarinets, a bass clarinet, 3 bassoons, 7 saxophones, 7 trumpets, 9 horns, 4 trombones, a euphonium, 4 tubas, in addition to timpani, 6 percussions, three double basses, a harp and two sopranos.
