The center-right is regrouping ahead of the regional elections in Sardinia . The step backwards of the League was decisive, abandoning the hypothesis of a re-nomination of Christian Solinas and joining the Brothers of Italy in supporting Paolo Truzzu 's race for the governor's seat.

«The League, as taught by Silvio Berlusconi , is aware that the unity of the centre-right is a value to be defended. For this reason, the party will regroup the coalition also in Sardinia, with a sense of responsibility and out of love for the island, despite the dismay at the initiatives of part of the judiciary", explains the Carroccio.

The reference is to the seizure ordered by the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office against Solinas , who was investigated together with six other people for corruption. A measure whose "strange timing" Salvini's party underlines.

Meanwhile, the League's decision is greeted thus by Fratelli d'Italia : «We have made available to the entire centre-right the candidacy of Paolo Truzzu for President of the Sardinia Region, an excellent local administrator who as Mayor of Cagliari has demonstrated his ability to govern well and solve citizens' concrete problems. Our hope is that all the forces that make up the coalition, both national and territorial, can share this proposal. We ask in particular the Sardinian Action Party , which has represented and represents so much in its more than one hundred year history for Sardinia, to want to contribute to the continuation of a centre-right, civic and Sardinian political project". «Our common objective - adds FdI - must be to guarantee the Sardinia Region another five years of good government from the centre-right , continuing along the path of change and renewal started five years ago by President Christian Solinas».

And so we are waiting to know the Psd'Az's decision : to remain firm on Solinas, propose its own candidate or give support to Truzzu, thus definitively putting an end to the tug-of-war of recent weeks? The decision was made today, during the National Council convened in Oristano.
