The etching technique for engraving: the lesson at the Pinacoteca of Sassari

After the xylography technique, here is the lesson-workshop on that of etching, the process of engraving on metal plates (usually zinc and copper) covered with wax. The appointment is still in the Pinacoteca of Sassari, Saturday at 10. The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Sardinia.
The teacher will be Maestro Enrico Piras who will illustrate one of the oldest and most fascinating techniques : “The art of chalcography - etching technique”. Born in 1931, Enrico Piras is an artist famous for his engravings of Sardinian landscapes. He also created the Biennial of Italian engraving “Carmelo Floris” (the artist was his uncle) which takes place in Olzai.
