«In a financial manoeuvre that is asphyxiated and lacking in vision, it is necessary to give an immediate response to the Sardinian municipalities, which in recent years, in the face of significant investment expenditure, have seen a constant reduction in the resources necessary for functioning and services».
This was declared by the opposition group leaders in the Regional Council, Paolo Truzzu (Fdi), Angelo Cocciu (Fi), Umberto Ticca (Reformers), Antonello Peru (Sardegna 2020 al centro) and Stefano Schirru (Mixed group).
"€100 million is needed immediately," the center-right representatives explain, "to increase the Single Municipal Fund and ensure that the Regional Council can provide local authorities with the solutions that the Todde administration failed to provide. This would mean ensuring that municipalities have the resources needed to maintain essential services for citizens: public transportation, education, urban decorum, security, and social services." The minority representatives conclude, announcing the submission of a specific amendment to the budget approved yesterday by the Budget Committee and now ready for the floor of the House.
