The 2024 concert season organized by the Amici della Musica association of Cagliari closes with a bang: to seal this year's program, the Quartetto Adorno, Matthias Ziegler and Boris Begelman will take to the stage of the Teatro Carmen Melis in via Sant'Alenixedda, in Cagliari, for three top-level events.
The 2024 concert season, created thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Department of Cultural Heritage, Entertainment and Sport of the Region and the Fondazione di Sardegna, has allowed lovers of chamber music to attend concerts of the highest level, with world-class artists.
After the performance on November 14th by pianist Francesco Libetta, one of the most appreciated talents on the international music scene, on December 5th, at 7 pm, the Quartetto Adorno, a highly prestigious ensemble, will take to the stage of the Teatro Carmen Melis for an evening dedicated to chamber music with a program that includes compositions by Ravel, Barber and Dvorak. A unique opportunity to appreciate the richness and depth of three giants of chamber music, interpreted by one of the most established quartets on the international music scene.
On December 12, at 7:00 p.m., it will be the turn of the Swiss flautist Matthias Ziegler, known for his extraordinary technique and interpretative sensitivity, who will propose a program that mixes modern sounds and experimentation with compositions by Kessler and Ziegler himself. A concert that promises to explore new frontiers in the flute repertoire. The season will close on December 19, again at 7:00 p.m., with Boris Begelman, a very talented violinist who will perform a solo program with the evocative title “Sei Solo”, with music by Biber and Bach. An intimate and profound journey into musical expression, in which the violin becomes an instrument of pure emotion.
While the 2024 concert season is now in its final stages, the Amici della Musica association is already thinking about the three-year period 2025-2027. If the last three years have allowed us to undertake a research path on Medieval Music by offering spectators shows with period instruments, the next three years will have as their underlying theme interpretation, an aspect that characterizes and distinguishes in a recognizable way the concert of each artist. The first line of shows that will be offered to spectators in the next three years will refer to Bach's suites and partitas for solo instrument (violin, piano and cello), for a total of 8 shows. These compositions are characterized by the presence of dances that are usually played only as "music" without considering the deep ties that exist with the original forms of dance.
In the next three years, particular attention will once again be given to the musical traditions of the territory, the Friends of Music will propose at least one show a year in which representatives of the main forms of traditional music of Sardinia will take to the stage, such as the launeddas and the canto a tenore.
