The small fix during the height of the emergency isn't enough : Sardinians are at times unable to buy discounted tickets and travel between the island's airports. Flight continuity remains a mirage in this counter-exodus, especially to Linate. Meanwhile, with a majority vote, the Regional Council's Transport Committee has approved the new Continuity model, which only needs a ministerial decree. The center-right abstained.
From Olbia with Aeroitalia and from Alghero with ITA Airways, there are no flights to Milan at all. From Gallura, the airline added a flight for August 30th with an Embraer 195, departing at 1:00 PM, but the seats sold out within hours. Until September 2nd, no tickets are available from Olbia under Continuity, following a simulation yesterday at 6:10 PM.
The same goes for the Riviera del Corallo to the Lombardy capital: seats are sold out until August 31st , according to the ITA website regarding reservations reserved for residents of the island. Things are better for Cagliari, with connections still guaranteed by Aeroitalia: after protests, the company added a 6:50 PM outbound flight to Linate and a 9:00 PM return flight. An additional flight is also scheduled for August 30th, with the same schedule.
On September 1st , however, there will be an additional take-off from the Sardinian capital to Milan at 7:20 a.m. and an additional landing at 9:30 a.m. The route will be off-limits on Friday the 29th, but flights will continue on other days.
