In municipalities not affected by African swine fever, the authorization issued in the previous year for wild boar hunting is expected to be extended for companies that, in the previous hunting year, hunted in infected territories and which have now become no longer subject to restriction.
In the infected territories it is foreseen the extension of the authorizations in derogation issued in the previous year with the possibility of practicing wild boar hunting exclusively within the Municipalities authorized in the previous authorization application and exclusively falling within the aforementioned new Infected Zone.
It is also possible to request authorization to hunt in neighboring areas located within the non-infected area.
This is what is foreseen by the latest determination issued by the regional Project Unit (UdP) as part of the extraordinary program for the eradication of African swine fever in wild and farmed wild boar populations.
In a note from the Ats it is pointed out that "thanks also to the collaboration of hunters in the sampling of the killed wild boars, the so-called 'active surveillance', this year the infected area for the wild has been resized with a considerable simplification of the procedures health sampling and wild boar hunting authorization ".
The single coordinator of the Ats Veterinary Services in the UdP will issue, by 29 October, a single authorization for each territorial area of competence of the Veterinary Services.
