The first day of the audit on African swine fever (Psa) in Sardinia opens with the appeal, also launched through social media, by the Health Councilor Mario Nieddu to Europe.
"The control activity has never stopped and for years there have been no outbreaks of PSA on the island", explains the commissioner. "Brussels recognizes this historic result and removes the restrictions that are no longer necessary, which today damage many companies of our territory and the typical quality productions of Sardinia ".
This morning the meeting that brings together, among others, the members of the project unit for the eradication of the Psa, the technicians of the European Commission and the technicians of the Ministry of Health.
In the afternoon the audit moves to the territory, in Ogliastra, and in the next two weeks it will be the turn of Nuoro, Sassari and Cagliari, with scheduled visits to the laboratory of the Zooprophylactic Institute of Sardinia, to the farms and to the slaughtering and processing plants. pig products.
