Simona Quadarella won the silver medal in the 1500m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka. The Italian finished in second position behind the American Katie Ledecky.

«This medal means a lot, I hadn't gotten it for four years and since then I've wanted to get these 1500 back and I've done it. I was a little scared to be next to her (Ledecky ed) - says the Roman champion to the microphones of Sky -, I'm happy because in the first half of the race I wasn't even too far away, then she's very strong but my goal was to finish second and so it was. I'm happy in the water, I felt good and now I'm over the moon."

For Thomas Ceccon, gold yesterday in the 50m butterfly and record, today silver medal in the 100m backstroke. The blue, already on his third medal in this world championship, finished behind the American Ryan Murphy.

He doesn't hide his disappointment: «Of course I preferred to win, that's why I entered the water: I didn't swim as smoothly as yesterday, but the race wasn't bad. Winning is never taken for granted."
