The beginning of the international rowing season is getting closer and closer for the Oristano athlete Stefano Oppo who from tomorrow, Friday 4 March, until Friday 18 March will be engaged in Sabaudia with the senior national team in the new Olympic meeting in preparation for the next ones - and first - national and international appointments of this 2022.
The spotlight is already on this Sunday 6 March with a regional competition that will be held in Sabaudia on Lake Paola in which the National team will take part. A first important evaluation regatta for the definition of the crews in view of the first National Meeting, scheduled in Piediluco from 2 to 3 April, of the Paolo d'Aloja Memorial (8-9-10 April 2022) and international appointments with the stages of World Cup, European and World Cup.
Stefano Oppo will play the race on Sunday in the two specialties of single and double; the double race in the Senior and non-Lightweight category.
THE ENCOMAS - Yesterday the athlete from Oristano received two commendations, for the prestigious results achieved in the last two years, by the Carabinieri.
At the delivery ceremony in Rome there were several Arma athletes who in recent years, in their respective disciplines, have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally, bringing the name of the Arma into vogue and increasing its prestige.
In addition to Stefano Oppo for rowing, Stefania Gobbi was also awarded, who was also present at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics in the women's quadruple specialty.
The Superintendent and Commander of the Rowing and Olympic Canoe Section, Marco Vendrame, accompanied his athletes.
As for the other disciplines, the two Olympic gold medals were awarded, Vito dell'Aquila for taekwondo, Luigi Busà for karate, kumite specialties and Arianna Errigo.
All the athletes were awarded by Colonel Gianni Massimo Cuneo, Commander of the Carabinieri Sports Center.
