A blow to Todde and a message to his allies. This could be the outcome of the Progetto Sardegna meeting convened for today in Oristano by Renato Soru.
The former regional president met with his supporters to take stock of regional politics—also ahead of the upcoming local elections— two years after the elections that brought the Five Star Movement candidate to Villa Devoto, while he and his "Sardinian Coalition" remained outside the Regional Council, penalized by the electoral law that sets the threshold at 10%, compared to the 8.5% garnered at the polls on February 24, 2024.
The Oristano meeting was one about which all participants maintained the strictest secrecy. At the end, an "unofficial" statement was issued, brief but significant.
"Progetto Sardegna met today in Oristano to discuss the regional political landscape and the challenges Sardinia continues to face two years into its new government." The assessment of Todde's work is quite clear. "The meeting," it continues, "focused on revitalizing Progetto Sardegna's regional and territorial organization , also in light of the upcoming local elections." Then comes the opening message, sent while the president and the Democratic Party are experiencing a period of respite, but only in anticipation of the referendum: "Progetto Sardegna confirms its willingness to engage in dialogue with all political forces that identify with the autonomist and progressive camps."
