All set for the first edition of the Sorso Summer Festival, which will be held on Saturday 24 August in via Siglienti starting at 7 pm. The star of the evening will be Babaman, an Italian rapper and dance-hall singer known for the powerful lyrics and engaging rhythms of his songs. Mr Baba is none other than Massimo Corrado from the Milanese hinterland, who released his first production in 2000, thirteen tracks grouped under the title “L'occhio”.
To date Babaman is one of the few Rastafarian artists of raggamuffin/reggae/hip hop music in Italy. He also collaborated with Bassi Maestro for the song on the latter's Street Album, "VELM", for the Reggae/Hip-Hop piece "To The Top".
The program will be further enriched by performances by Paolinho, King Textone, and Sista Namely & Isla Sound, leading artists on the island's music scene. The event, with free admission, is organized by the Centro Commerciale Naturale “I Love Sorso” association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Sorso.
