Anna Giulia Fossatelli, the eighteen year old from Terni competing in the Miss Italy selections and insulted on social media because she is considered, due to her olive complexion, eyes and dark hair, "not Italian" is willing to file a complaint with the police.

"Even if you have an Italian surname, you are not Italian, you are a mixed race", "You are half Arab", or "Enter the competition of your country!" some of the phrases addressed to the young woman on Instagram.

Hence, the decision to complain. "Not so much for a personal matter, being Italian - explains Anna Giulia -, but for girls who really have foreign origins and who can have serious problems due to these facts. These things must be reported because they cannot happen".

In the last few hours, the young woman has received numerous messages of solidarity, including that of the mayor of Terni, Leonardo Latini. "The city - he wrote - feels proudly represented by Anna Giulia Fossatelli, to whom my full support goes for the insults received. Sorry to read some idiotic and vulgar comments against her".

According to the senator of the Lega Valeria Alessandrini, whoever insults the young woman "does not deserve any consideration". "Affection and closeness" are also expressed by the Pd of Terni, according to which the same is "a victim of the ignorance and narrow-mindedness of the usual keyboard lions".

As part of the Miss Italia selections, the eighteen-year-old, who is attending the last year of the Tacito classical high school in Terni, won the Miss Sorriso sash last week.
