The Dermatology of the University Hospital of Cagliari takes the field against skin cancers together with the Italian Society of Dermatology (SIDeMaST) supported by LaRoche-Posay.

This year the protagonists of the melanoma prevention campaign, “Save Your Skin”, will be moles, skin spots caused by the accumulation of melanocytes, cells that produce melanin, responsible for skin color and tanning.

Self-examination, that is to know your moles and check yourself regularly every 4-6 months, is a prevention tool of fundamental importance because it allows you to identify changes and the onset of new lesions in the bud, requiring a visit to the dermatologist. Timeliness in these cases is essential, in fact, intervening when the lesion is completely initial guarantees total healing for patients suffering from skin tumors.

Dermatology has always been committed to the treatment and prevention of malignant skin diseases and for this reason , on Saturday 18 June , free consultations with the dermatologists of San Giovanni di Dio will be carried out in the clinics in via hospital 46.

For those who have not been able to book the visit or cannot go in person, there is the possibility to request a free 15-minute telemedicine consultation with the dermatologists of the Italian Society of Dermatology, which will be carried out between 20 June and 22 July (reservations with limited availability).

To carry out the teleconsultation with the dermatologist, it is possible to book by calling the toll-free number 800.901.757, from 8.30 to 19.30.

The telephone consultation cannot replace the visit to check the moles, but it will in any case be a moment of exchange and study on the correct exposure to the sun and on how to carry out a self-assessment.
