This is how Cagliari, exactly six years after that cursed 4 March 2018, remembers its Davide Astori , who passed away prematurely in Udine, where the then Fiorentina captain was in retreat with his team for a championship match against Udinese.
Astori was found lifeless in his hotel room, the victim of a heart attack, at just 31 years old .
Many messages of condolence. "Davide is always with us", the memory of Fiorentina , who like Cagliari retired the number 13 shirt in his honour.
Many people paid homage to the defender who also wore the national team shirt through messages and photographs via social media. Among these Cristiano Biraghi, current captain of Fiorentina, and his teammate, as well as Borja Valero, German Pezzella, then Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa ("Davide always with us" wrote the Juventus player also posting the image of Astori), Leonardo Bonucci ("Hello my friend"), Luca Antonelli, Romano Pericone, Lorenzo Venuti.
Even Milan, the team for which he played in the Primavera, remembered him: «Gone but not forgotten, his memory will live forever» . As well as Roma and Cremonese, the Serie A League ("Forever in our hearts") and the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, who on his social accounts released a video depicting the large mural dedicated to the Viola captain, created in 2021 in via Canova in Florence.
