When coach Michele Pazienza arrived at the press room, he probably wasn't aware that his time in Sassari was over. Two hours later, Torres issued a statement announcing that "it has relieved coach Michele Pazienza of his duties as First Team coach. Assistant coach Antonio La Porta and athletic trainer Leandro Zoila will also no longer be part of the club's staff."

After the customary thanks to the Apulian coach, the rossoblù club announced that they had entrusted the team to Marco Sanna, but "temporarily".

This means he'll only lead training sessions while awaiting the appointment of a new manager. The former Torres, Sampdoria, and Cagliari midfielder has been coaching the Primavera team for a few years and led the Sassari first team in Serie D.

It's also worth remembering that the club's payroll includes not only Pazienza but also Alfonso Greco, who still had another year left on his contract.
