Torres reached the third round of the Coppa Italia suffering more than they should against Albinoleffe, reduced to ten men after just 12 minutes due to the expulsion (double yellow card) of defender Borghini. It ended 3-1 because Zecca in the 83rd minute transformed a cross-shot by Antonelli that could have ended out into a goal and then almost in the 90th minute Antonelli headed the ball home for 3-1.
The match was conditioned by Borghini's expulsion, which the guests from Bergamo paid dearly for, as Mastinu unlocked the match with a free kick: a powerful ball that went around the wall.
Albinoleffe closed up and defended well, finding the surprising equaliser in the 37th minute when Longo physically moved Antonelli and shortly after the halfway line he lobbed the ball past goalkeeper Petriccione.
In the second half it was almost a monologue of the red and blues , but to get back in the lead coach Greco had to bring in fresh forces, such as Zecca, who scored the 2-1, but also Scotto and Liviero.
At the end of the match, coach Alfonso Greco said: «A match with positive aspects but also others on which we must work, because we will often find opponents who press and reduce the spaces».
