The classic panettone of Antica Pasticceria Tre Janas 926, based in Sassari, received the silver medal in the Panettone World Championship organized by Fipgc, the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate.

Hundreds of Italian and international pastry shops participate in the competition. This edition was particularly rich, with proposals from more than seven countries and over 300 desserts competing.

The Sardinian panettone impressed the jury for its taste, great softness and very high quality.

The company, managed by the brothers Marco, Mimì and Pietro Rau, is an ancient pastry shop active since 1926.

Marco Rau, head of the pastry shop, commented: “This recognition is the result of the great work behind our Sardinian panettone project. At the heart of our production is the high quality of the ingredients we use, for the most part 100% Italian, carefully researched, together with the use of an ancient tradition mother yeast, which we refresh every day for generations ".

“The classic panettone 926 is a panettone rich in flavor, which we thought could well figure in an international competition like this one, and the prestigious Silver Medal proved us right. Our will is to demonstrate how even in Sardinia there can be a high-end pastry proposal focused on the production of panettone, because even this typically Italian dessert can speak Sardinian ”, he added.

The silver medal in the Panettone World Championship is an award that crowns the artisan panettone production project with a line of Christmas sweets made up of six different proposals. "The family of our artisanal panettone today consists of six products", he concluded, "The classic, the almond without candied fruit, pistachio and white chocolate, wholemeal with berries covered with chocolate, pear and chocolate and apricot and chocolate. We are happy to be able to say that these desserts are being loved very much, reaching an incredible degree of appreciation, even at an international level, where we work and make Sardinian excellence known in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland. and other".
