Also defending his European Under-20 basketball title will be Stefano Trucchetti of Sassari, who won last year's European Championship in Greece. The former Dinamo point guard, who has been playing for Pesaro since last season, is among the 12 selected by coach Alessandro Rossi.
Italy has been drawn into Group A with Germany, France, and Türkiye, and will play in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Their first match is Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m. against Germany.
This is the Italian lineup: Trucchetti, Airhienbuwa and Atamah are the 2006-born players left over from the last European Championship. They were joined by the 2007-born Lonati, Hassan, Angeletti, Accorsi, Baiocchi, Placinschi, Sow, Nistrio and Crestan.
