Starting today on Prime Video , "Lontano dal Centro – Cantico errante di un DJ senza tempo" (Lost from the Center – Wandering Song of a Timeless DJ), a documentary directed by Roberto Pili and featuring Francesco Pili, about the history and culture of hip hop in Sardinia, is available.
An independent work, conceived and produced in Sardinia, which, after its festival run, has landed on one of the main international streaming platforms.
The documentary tells the personal and artistic story of Richard Di Via, aka DJ Sputo, a historic figure in Sardinian underground hip hop, intertwining his story with that of a music scene that grew far from the major centers.
"Lontano dal Centro" has already received several awards, including the Audience Award at the Hip Hop CineFest in Rome, the Tziulai Special Mention at the Orgosolo Film Festival, and two awards at the Moon Arts Film Festival, for Best Male Director – Documentary and Best Sound Design. The film was also selected for the Hip Hop Film Festival in New York.
The arrival on Prime Video represents a significant milestone, especially for the region: it's the first time a film dedicated to Sardinian culture and hip hop has landed on an international platform like Prime Video, bringing a story born in Sardinia to a potentially global audience.
