Workers towards the abyss: night of smoke bombs and protests in the San Gavino foundry

A very black smoke after days of unnerving waiting for Portovesme srl. The plants of the Sulcis plant will not restart and, after almost 91 years of a long and glorious industrial history, the future of the San Gavino foundry now seems marked.

After learning of the stalemate that emerged from the meeting in Rome between the government and Glencore, a heated meeting was held with the unions in the factory in the town of Medio Campidano, culminating in the lighting of some smoke bombs on the roof and in the courtyard in the establishment.

The protest, it has been announced, will continue to the bitter end.
