The train timetables on the Cagliari-Decimomannu-Villamassargia-Iglesias line will change for two months, from 9 April to 10 June .
The reason lies in the maintenance works that are starting between the stations of Villamassargia and Iglasias to restore the ballast on which the tracks are laid and increase the speed of the trains . The construction site covers an area of 31 km of line and will see 40 technicians including RFI operators and contracting companies busy every day, the economic investment is over 9 million .
Changes to circulation: some routes will be canceled and replaced by buses, with the consequent increase in travel times , which will inevitably also be linked to road traffic. Furthermore, available places are decreasing, large animals are not allowed and bicycle transport is not permitted . The buses will stop in the square in front of the station. Other changes are also expected: early departures of 5 minutes and late arrivals of 5 minutes at Iglesias station.
Below is the detail of the changes communicated by Trenitalia.
