Wind farm in Villacidro, a pipeline explodes in the construction site: huge water leak

The bucket that digs into the ground in the wrong place. And a powerful column of water that seems to rise up to the sky.

The accident occurred this morning in Santu Miali, on the land of Villacidro where work is underway to build the controversial wind farm which has also ended up at the centre of attention of the authorities responsible for environmental controls .

One of the bulldozers hit a pipeline of the Land Reclamation Consortium of Southern Sardinia, causing a huge leak. Workers from the water management agency in the area had to intervene to repair it.

It is difficult to establish how much water has been lost, in a period of severe drought such as the one the Island is going through.
