Weather alert for the island: yellow code for hydrogeological risk

Weather alert for Sardinia issued by the decentralized functional center for civil protection.
The note, issued with a yellow code (of ordinary criticality) for hydrogeological risk, concerns the areas of Iglesiente, Campidano and Flumendosa Flumineddu, and is valid starting from 3 pm tomorrow, March 12, and until 11.59 pm on March 13.
"The sky will be covered in most of the island - explain from the weather office of the Decimomannu Air Force - tomorrow it will rain. Worsening in the night, with more intense rainfall in the eastern part, in the Sarrabus and Ogliastra where cumulative accumulations will be recorded that they can even reach 30 millimeters (about 600 millimeters of rain fall in a year) ".
Sunday rainy day and cloudy skies, especially in the eastern part of the island. But as of tomorrow “the north-east wind that is blowing in these hours will give way to the sirocco which colliding with the cold Atlantic air will bring rainfall. The sirocco will be sustained, with breezes that in some cases may even reach 40 kilometers per hour on Saturdays and Sundays ”. From Monday the wind will intensify on the western part of the region with gusts that can reach up to 70 kilometers per hour.
This situation will lead to rough seas and storm surges in the southern and eastern part of the island.
Temperatures will also drop. "The maximum values recorded today around 18 degrees - underline the weather office - will drop on average by 1 or 2 degrees, even if in some areas such as Nuoro the thermometer could drop by as much as 5 degrees".
