Another charge is pending against the gang that allegedly carried out a dozen robberies, muggings, and thefts on the Costa Smeralda and in various locations in the Arzachena area. The three individuals arrested in the early hours of today by the Carabinieri of Olbia and Porto Cervo are believed to have robbed a tourist in Cannigione. The man was reportedly surrounded, and then one of the alleged thieves snatched an expensive Patek Philippe from his wrist.
The arrested trio, aged between 30 and 45, are French nationals and have an impressive track record of stealing watches in many European tourist destinations. They were reportedly recognized by the tourist from whom they stole a €360,000 Richard Mille watch in Porto Cervo, leaving her hospitalized with a head injury.
The victim, represented by lawyer Rino Cudoni, has already appeared at the Porto Cervo police station. Cudoni is also representing other victims of thefts committed in Pantogia and Abbiadori. The three, represented by lawyer Alberto Sechi, could appear as early as tomorrow before the Tempio District Judge.
