"After a year the mountain has given birth to a mouse". This is what the mayor of Sant'Antioco Ignazio Locci said about the experimental measure, introduced on the proposal of councilor Desirè Manca in agreement with councilor Bartolazzi, of the "Health Services Vouchers", intended for families with economic difficulties.

«I am called upon daily to deal with the health problems of my citizens who literally don't know where to turn», explains the mayor. All this «while the majority of the government of the Sardinia Region, the so-called "wide field", is meeting today in a summit with the thorniest issue at its center, namely the health emergency». Speaking of vouchers, «if it weren't for the fact that the project is written down in black and white, it would be considered a joke. Because it is unacceptable to have to accept that we have been reduced to "good doctors", as if they were meal vouchers , as if our system could accept that there is a category of subjects considered poor in terms of access to care and that to ensure them we need a "voucher" that can be spent in the "health market" which, specifically, will be formed and composed of doctors and medical centers that will have to enter into an agreement with Aspal, the Sardinian agency that should instead deal with labor policies. This method is also not a joke, really: it is written in the resolution».

The financial endowment of the measure boasts ten million euros, money that according to Locci «could have been used to reduce waiting lists, through multiple methods, I hope that this majority will make a change and focus on reducing waiting lists, without offering palliatives»; concludes the mayor.
