The splendid voices of the Turritano Polyphonic Choir accompanied the dozens of tourists on their way to the island of Asinara . The fortieth International Festival of polyphonic music Voices of Europe opened yesterday with the " Concert on board ". In the main hall of the "Sara D" motor ship , which left at 8.30 from Porto Torres , it was the Turritano Polyphonic Choir directed by maestro Laura Lambroni , artistic director of the event, who inaugurated the 2023 edition. During navigation, visitors had a taste of what will happen in Porto Torres and in North West Sardinia in these days thanks to the presence of international and Italian choirs in some of the most evocative sites in the area.

The Turritano Polyphonic Choir, organizer of the Festival, performed pieces of contemporary polyphony, closing the performance with two compositions by the unforgettable maestro Don Antonio Sanna, Motteti di Gallura and Muto di Orgosolo, and the famous piece of Sardinian folk inspiration, No potho rest. A moment that has received the appreciation of tourists, some of whom came from Northern Italy, England and Spain. Yesterday evening the Festival then stopped at the Li Lioni Estate, at the entrance to Porto Torres, where a choral dinner was held based on traditional foods and conviviality in music, with impromptu performances by the Slovenian sextet Ingenium Ensemble and the Turritan Polyphonic Choir.

Also present are the stands of local artisans. The two formations will still be protagonists this evening, at 21: the Festival will arrive in the small center of Monteleone Rocca Doria, in the church of Santo Stefano. Tomorrow the parish of Santa Croce a Sorso will host the third day: at 9 pm the Santa Croce Polyphonic Choir, the Turritano Polyphonic Choir and the Ingenium Ensemble will perform.
