Britta Wollny was the name of the 61-year-old German tourist from Essen who died this morning while diving in the sea of Villasimius .
The woman, on holiday on the island, was taking part in a scuba diving trip, together with six other people, organised by a local diving centre to discover the seabed near Cavoli Island.
While he was underwater he felt ill.
Immediately rescued, she was brought to the surface, then with a diving dinghy transported to the port of Villasimius where the 118 personnel were waiting for her. The helicopter rescue and the Port Authority also arrived on site. The doctors tried for a long time to revive her, unfortunately in vain. The Coast Guard seized the equipment used for the dive.
