Traffic will be temporarily suspended on the ford between Muravera and Villaputzu starting Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. to repair the dirt road damaged by rain. The ford will remain closed for the duration of the repair work (it will reopen by Monday).

"The closure," explained Villaputzu Mayor Sandro Porcu, "is necessary to allow for faster and more effective work." Furthermore, "given the presence of the river flowing under the concrete ford, access to the ford will also be closed."

At the moment, the water levels are not a cause for concern, "but if they were to rise," the mayor added, "the ford will be closed immediately. The situation is being monitored and is under control."
