Villaputzu: flames in the reeds of Flumendosa, even the helicopter intervenes

A big fire damaged the reeds on the Flumendosa at the iron bridge that connects Villaputzu to Muravera.

The flames developed around 7 this morning: favored by the wind, they spread rapidly attacking a very large area .

Immediate intervention of the firefighters of the San Vito office, of the men of the Forestry Corps, of Forestas and teams of volunteers. There was also a helicopter that made numerous launches.

Around 11 am the fire was limited and tamed, then the reclamation operations started.

The carabinieri of Villaputzu and of the radio-mobile unit of San Vito also intervened, which triggered the investigations to trace the causes of the fire and any responsibilities.
