Acts of vandalism that are repeated in the “Nino Pala” maritime station in Porto Torres, episodes that have occurred quite frequently, particularly in recent months. For this reason, the municipal administration has activated night surveillance within the structure that houses a series of services.

At the request of the Municipality, the concessionaires of the maritime ticket offices have closed an agreement with a company that takes care of control services. The offices operating inside the station - Gnv, Cin, Delcomar, Forship for Corsica Ferries and a car rental company - have shared resources to increase the security guard on the structure, which in recent months has been the subject of repeated vandal raids after the closing time.

The latest case occurred about ten days ago, with a night raid on the toilets that left damage and dirt. On these phenomena, in addition to what has been established for the station, it is the intention of the administration to activate checks during the daytime period through the local police force and making use of the other public security forces.

"We are witnessing an intolerable escalation of vandalism in an essential structure in the management and reception of the tourist flow - declares the Councilor for Heritage Alessandro Carta - for this reason we have asked the concessionaires to take charge of the surveillance. It is a first step in the fight against a phenomenon that is creating problems throughout the city ".
