Arrested the man who, to escape from a police check in Cagliari, had fled the wrong way on a stolen van in Corso Vittorio Emanuele last Sunday, damaging some parked cars and risking running over a passer-by. The vehicle was later found, empty, in via Quintino Sella : the driver had fled on foot to the San Michele area.

The manager is a 46-year-old from Cagliari with a record : recognized by the agents, he had been wanted by the Flying Squad and the Flying Squad for four days.

Yesterday morning the hunt ended: the man was intercepted by the steering wheels on the median axis aboard another stolen car. He tried to escape again but this time it went wrong: after another high-speed chase up to the outskirts of Sestu , he abandoned the car and walked away into the countryside. The men from the Mobile Property Crimes Section found him hiding behind a bush, near a farmhouse .

A prison order from the surveillance magistrate of Cagliari was also pending on him, so he was taken to the Uta prison.

This time too he will be denounced for resistance and receiving stolen goods .
