The percentage of the population who completed the vaccination cycle in Sardinia fell to 77.4%, compared to the Italian average, which exceeds 80%.

The Gimbe Foundation notes this, explaining that the figure is affected by "recalculations equal to 51,786 complete cycles less between 18 and 25 January 2022". Therefore, despite the previous communications extrapolated from the government's institutional website dedicated to the campaign, the island has yet to reach the first step of herd immunity of 80%: a goal that, according to some estimates based on the average of the first doses carried out in the last few days, it could be reached by February.

To 77.4% of Sardinians who had the second dose (1,236,793 including single doses), we must then add a further 3.5% (Italian average 4.1%) with the first dose only.

The vaccination coverage rate with third dose is 70.8% (compared to the Italian average of 78.8%), while in pediatric age, children between 5 and 11 years old who have completed the vaccination cycle are 8. , 4% (Italian average 9.1%) to which an additional 19.7% (Italian average 20.3%) must be added with the first dose only.

"ONLY ONE MISALIGNMENT" - "There has been no recalculation in the absence of the number of vaccinations in Sardinia. they will be integrated by virtue of the passage from the Ats to the individual Asl, which took place on January 1st ". The Region of Sardinia informs Ansa, following the report of the Gimbe Foundation.

"The disconnect is evident if we observe the difference between the Poste Italiane platform, which marks over 3,387,000 total administrations for 'Isola, and the data reported in the Government portal, which indicates 3,236,000 administrations, with a difference of 150 thousand doses ”, concludes the Region.

"This is therefore a temporary misalignment in the resolution phase."
