Sardinia reaches 90% of the vaccination coverage target, i.e. almost all of the people over 12 for whom the Covid vaccine has been authorized in Italy.

In absolute terms, those who received the two doses are 1,150,129 (1,105,146 with double dose and 44,983 single dose) out of about 1.2 million over 12 years of age. Compared to the resident population, just under 1.6 million, on the other hand, coverage is 72%.

With an average of about 8 thousand administrations per day, the island could reach 80% herd immunity (with two doses) in about 20 days.

In the meantime, the "Open Days" continue to give a further acceleration to the campaign. Saturday 2 October, from 9 to 12, the appointment is at the Arnas G. Brotzu vaccination hub, where it will be possible to take the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine without reservation.

Brotzu, who has so far administered 66,642 doses of Pfizer serum and 5,126 of Astrazeneca, is now starting the third dose inoculation of the frail: kidney transplanted and dialysed patients and neurological patients suffering from multiple sclerosis.

Also today at the start with the third dose also in the vaccination centers of Olbia and La Maddalena.
