The two victims of the Poetto tragedy are from Cagliari and Monserrato. The two boys , Gabriele Galici and Filippo Corongiu , were both born in 2008.

They were traveling on a scooter, owned by the mother of one of them. Carabinieri from the Quartu Company's mobile radio unit are still working on the scene to reconstruct the incident.

The accident was confirmed as a single-vehicle accident, with no other vehicles involved. According to initial investigations, the driver suddenly lost control of the motorcycle, crashing violently onto the asphalt.

Following the report, the Carabinieri of the Quartu Company's Radiomobile section promptly intervened, together with personnel from the Cagliari Police Headquarters and 118 health workers.

Despite prolonged resuscitation attempts by the medical crew on site, unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for the two young men and they could only be confirmed dead.

A detailed report on the incident has been forwarded to the Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office.
