A maxi plan to harmonize green and concrete in the seventeen municipalities of the vast area of Cagliari signed by the archistar João Ferreira Nunes.
This is what the mayor Truzzu is evaluating for the design of the sustainable ring of the Metropolitan City, with the aim of a "green" system that creates a path of parks and gardens from Cagliari to the most distant countries.
A first part of the project could be financed with 102 million euros.
OBJECTIVES - "The intent behind the idea of the Sustainable Ring is to reconnect cities to nature, going beyond the now outdated logic of division", explains metropolitan mayor Paolo Truzzu. Nunes has already participated in several inspections.
THE PROJECT - Among the projects proposed by the municipalities there is also that of the waterways between Monserrato, Selargius, Quartucciu, Quartu and Cagliari. And then, among others, the redevelopment of the civic markets - in particular San Benedetto in Cagliari and the Municipal Market of Monserrato - a green connection between the via Vesalio and the via Nenni in Selargius, the completion of the arrangement of the coastal areas in Quartu , the redevelopment of the roads to the coastal towns in Maracalagonis, the completion of the Park of the two rivers and the redevelopment of the Santa Greca exhibition area in Decimomannu, the improvement of the strip on the Santa Gilla Lagoon in Elmas, the renovation of the sports field and river ports of Sestu, the establishment of a marine protected area in Pula.
THE ARCHITECT - The architect Nunes will have the task of putting together the individual interventions and outlining a unitary interconnected project. "I will try to make your ideas concrete to build a green and sustainable infrastructure that will be pioneering in Italy", explained the Portuguese professional during his speech. All this in a very short time, because the feasibility study will last a few months.
However, the 102 million available will not be enough to complete the project. "We are confident - said Truzzu - to be able to find the necessary resources also through other financing instruments".
