Rear-end collision between vans, one overturns: kilometer queue on 131 DCN

An overturned van, placed sideways on the roadway, created serious traffic inconvenience on the 131 DCN state road, in the Abbasanta direction.

The accident occurred around kilometer 45, after Nuoro and just before the crossroads for Macomer. The heavy vehicle was involved with another van and overturned on its side, occupying both lanes.

The two drivers, one from Abbasanta and one of Moroccan nationality, were both transferred to the San Francesco hospital by two 118 ambulances from Nuoro and Oliena.

However, the operations to remove the large vehicle are difficult. And while waiting for the intervention of specialized machinery, a kilometer-long but orderly queue has been created : all the vehicles are stationary in the right-hand lane, so as not to hinder rescue efforts.

The Gavoi carabinieri are managing the situation.
