"Anything can be said about the hypothesis. We can say anything without foundation, just as the rape drug hypothesis is without foundation." These are the words of Sandro Vaccaro, the lawyer who assists Vittorio Lauria, one of Ciro Grillo's friends accused of sexual violence against an Italian-Norwegian student which took place in July 2019 after an evening in Porto Cervo.

The lawyer comments on the expert opinion filed by colleague Giulia Bongiorno who instead defends the victim. According to the girl's coroner, "the use of the so-called rape drug cannot be ruled out purely theoretically."

Professor Enrico Marinelli arrives at that hypothesis by reasoning about "an amnesia without loss of consciousness and the ability to perform complex actions such as conversing, having sexual relations and even killing".

The document was deposited in the prosecutor's office in Tempio Pausania, the second preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Ciro Grillo, Vittorio Lauria, Edoardo Capitta and Francesco Corsiglia are accused of group sexual violence, while all except Corsiglia are accused of sexual violence even against her friend for obscene photos taken while she was sleeping.
