A tragic road accident occurred on state highway 196 at kilometer marker 32+500 , on the stretch connecting Gonnosfanadiga to Villacidro . A 37-year-old resident of Villacidro , Noemi Collu , lost her life; unfortunately, nothing could be done for her.

The alarm was raised shortly after the impact when the Ford Focus the young woman was driving overturned several times.

The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile intervened on site, who immediately began investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident, and the 118 emergency services arrived from Guspini and San Gavino.

Paramedics made lengthy attempts to resuscitate the young woman, but her injuries proved too serious. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The road was closed to traffic, and then reopened with alternating one-way traffic to allow for rescue operations and legal investigations. The military is working to determine the cause of the crash.
